First signs of mc?

What are the first signs of mc?
I had some brown blood spotting this morning and have just had a bit more this afternoon. There's mild cramping, but I've had cramping throughout (was checked via scan a week ago - all was fine then.) I'm in the 6th week. My nausea has also dipped down - I suddenly craved toast.
Am waiting for a call back from the Doctor, but just want to know honestly if I should stay hopeful that it's nothing? I've got a picture of the blood but don't want to put you off replying with tmi!

I had a lot of bad cramping and spotting week 6 to week 8, scan showed a small bleed but sac and fetus unaffected. Hope everything is ok for you 😊

Hi, I’m sorry you are feeling worried. I had a mc last year. The first I knew was a really strong period type pain then a couple of hours later I passed a huge clot and bright red blood. At this point I was told my cervix was still closed but 24hrs later I was having a full blown miscarriage.
If it helps, I fell pregnant again in February and I also had cramps and brown spotting (when I wiped - sorry if tmi) from 6-8 weeks. I, like you, was worried so I had a scan and all was fine. They put it down to old blood from an ovulation bleed.
I am now 20 weeks.
I believe quite a few women get cramping due to everything expanding and brown blood tends to be old.
So try to stay positive, have everything crossed for you, hopefully nothing to worry about xxxxxx

Thanks so much for replying. I spoke to the midwife and am going in for a scan on Monday 🤞🏼 Fingers crossed for us!
