I’m 29 weeks pregnant with my second baby. I’ve been having normal Braxton Hicks since around 20 weeks. I noticed on Saturday that I was having a lot more than usual and it coincided with quite bad period type, and lower back, pains.
On Monday afternoon I called the maternity triage and they got me to come in for CTG monitor. Baby’s heartbeat fine and no contractions picked up.
On Tuesday morning in the shower I lost what looked like a dark brown blood clot a bit larger than a 50p piece. I called midwife back and she said to come in to get checked out again. Same monitoring and this time an internal exam which showed no active bleeding from cervix and the consultant said she thought it was cervical ectropion (used to be called erosion).
The thing is I’m still losing a caramel coloured discharge over 36 hours later with small blood clots and tissue as well. I also still have the cramping pains.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
