Hey guys. Iv got thrush! And I'm pregnant. I know you should not take the tablets but I was wondering if anyone's doctor said that the canestan cream was ok? or any other home remedies ???

Thank you

A doctor had told me some of the treatments were safe. Your pharmacist will be able to point out the right brand. Good luck!

I’ve got Canesten cream. It seems to be worse this pregnancy compared to my previous 2 :( it’s driving me mad. X

Adelais · 10/07/2019 21:24

I think I have it too and not sure how to treat it as I’ve had reactions to the creams and pesseries in the past and the only thing that works for me is the tablets which obviously I can’t have. I might have to try the natural yoghurt method!
I’ve also heard there’s a product called mummies tummies you can use during pregnancy but it’s expensive so that’s a last resort.

I had it when I was 40+ weeks. I used cream and a pessary

My gyneacologist told me canesten cream was ok during pregnancy.

Try multigyn actigel. Boots sells it, or used to anyway

SenoraSurf · 10/07/2019 22:31

You can use the cream and pessary safely in pregnancy (i was advised directly by the midwives at hospital), but the oral tablets are not recommended x

Trees2905 · 10/07/2019 22:34

Dip a tampon in yoghurt and stick it in. It works incredibly well....

Trees2905 · 10/07/2019 22:35

Just natural yoghurt tho, not like muller corner or anything.

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 10/07/2019 22:36

Pessary and cream are fine in pregnancy.

I've heard natural yoghurt recommended before too, one method is to soak a tampon on it and insert, I have no medical knowledge but I wouldn't think that would be great in pregnancy for risk of introducing bacteria.

Spread some natural yoghurt on a pad and stick it on. That helps to relieve the external itch too.

See if you can get some pessaries from doctor. Good luck!
