Pregnant or stressed!?!

Hello All!!

I'm in a bit of a state. Me and my partner were having a lot of unprotected sex. We wasn't necessarily trying for a baby but we were in a perfect, happy position to have one so it didn't matter.
2 weeks ago I caught him cheating on me. Absolutely gutted but I had to leave him. So its been about 2 weeks now since we had unprotected sex. I always have a very very regular period but I am now late by 2 days. This has me very worried now because I am always bang on time. I did a test this morning which said negative. I have been under a lot of stress due to our relationship ending, so im thinking maybe the stress has delayed my period? We had been having unprotected sex for nearly a year and nothing! Would be just my luck now he has cheated that I conceive. Do you think it could be stress related?

Could well be stress, but it would be worth waiting a few days and testing again

What type of test did you use? If you can, try get a first response, they seem to be the most accurate early on. The digital ones are no good too early for alot of women.

I hope you are OK after your breakup, and if you are pregnant, you don't need him to help raise the baby.

I would go get checked for STIs though as he may not have been using condoms with the OW either.

It’s probably stress related but it would be worth doing another test in a couple of days. I tracked my periods for years and during the summer when I get really stressed from work I noticed one of my cycles would be around 5-8 days late every year and I am bang on 28 days for my period. I’m finally pregnant and I did a cheap test from Sainsbury’s when I was two days late and it came up really strongly as a positive. When I’ve been 5 days late I used a FRER and they were always negative so I knew I couldn’t be pregnant. Sorry to hear about what you’re going through
