Partner feeling baby move, I’m overweight

Hi all, I’m 23 weeks pregnant, overweight, although still healthy. I can feel baby moving all the time, but it’s so frustrating as I want to share this with my partner, but with me having a lot of weight on tummy area - he is yet to feel baby move/kick. Before anyone jumps on the band wagon to try and fat shame me, I’m very happy with the way I look and the weight I am! So anyone else been in similar situation, when did your partner feel the baby move ???

I’m sure as the weeks progress and your tummy fat spreads and stretches out to accommodate your baby he will have a chance to feel or see!

Hi Kirsty, I’m overweight too - by quite a bit and I’m 24 weeks today, my partner felt the baby move at 18 weeks but even the man doing my scan said my baby wouldn’t keep still and is so active so I wouldn’t worry too much, your baby is probably just doing his big movements when you’re asleep! Laying on your back after having a few sips of fizzy pop encourages some movement.

For context I was a size 18-20 before pregnancy. Congratulations!

You're only 23 weeks, give it time. Some women are only just feeling their babies themselves at this point.

Probably will feel the kicks as space is more confined/kicks stronger later on. Possibly position of baby. I am a size 20. Apart from gestational diabetes with my third, my weight/size has not been a concern low carbing was a mare though

Completely normal not to feel movements from the outside yet
It will happen and you will have weeks of it. Don't worry

I'm 29 weeks (also overweight) and have only really started being able to feel baby from the outside a week or so ago so try not to panic😊the pregnancy apps etc. All seem to give really early dates for feeling movement, let alone from the outside, but all babies are different & have different patterns of movement. As others have said, try drinking a very cold drink & lie on your L side, usually that stimulates a fair bit of wiggling! 🐾

If it helps, I'm not overweight, and it still took until I think 30-32 weeks before we could feel anything. I think it can be more to do with the position of the baby, and the position of the placenta

23 weeks isn’t very far gone- think how weak babies legs are, no wonder he can’t feel it! Don’t worry later on I’m sure it will be fine Flowers

Thank you ladies, its just I can feel him loads. It’s like he’s having a party in there! To me they feel very strong.
