Hi, does anyone have any experience of coming off progesterone (prescribed because of IVF & early miscarriages) at 12 weeks? I was told I could just stop but have tapered (though quite quickly) I'm feeling quite hormonal with low mood & with a hint of crampyness (which I might be imagining :) ) I feel very like I did when I first started taking them. I wasn't expecting to be affected by coming off them as Ive been told the placenta is making so much progesterone now the pessaries will not be having any effect. Did anyone else feel hormonal for a while?
Thanks x

Hiya, I can’t remember about being hormonal - My overriding memory is that had terrible food aversions so basically just felt completely shit and therefore may have missed it... (I basically only ate choc chip brioche for 9 months)

The cramps yes but I think they are much more likely to be your uterus expanding and everything relaxing.

It’s a very anxious time I appreciate but I was so glad to be free of the mess and the pessaries were irritating my cervix so my spotting stopped once I got off them. Unfortunately assisted conception does rob you of the naivety of a ‘normal’ pregnancy

Congratulations! Dreams can come true.
