Hi All!

This is a random question and I am sorry if it's been asked before! Do the midwives actually check your blood to confirm your pregnant from the sample they take at the booking in appointment or just take your word that tour pregnant? I know it seems an odd question but I'm curious as I am still at the stage of not believing I am expecting, yet have done multiple tests!

No, I think they just take your word for it!

No blood or urine test is done to confirm pregnancy by the midwife.

No they just take your word for it. They do blood tests but those are for diseases and check iron etc. First official confirmation of pregnancy is your scan!

No, they do bloods at the 12 week scan as part of the nuchal fold test though.

I didn’t believe I was pregnant for ages either. Still don’t sometimes.... and he’s 2 and a half now! Grin

I took two tests and up until our 12 week scan dh didn't believe I was pregnant. The night before our scan he asked me to take another test "so we don't look like fools at the hospital". The next day we were told it was twins...I sure showed him 😁
