Should I just build the pram?

Made the mistake of buying the pram early when I promised I wouldn't 🤦🏻‍♀️ we don't have a garage so we have 3 huge box's in the bedroom and the carseat hasn't even come yet!!

I am only 25 weeks, will more than likely be induced at 38 weeks... should I build the pram and put the rain cover on so I can get rid of the huge box's or will I regret it 😂

No advice, just to say that we've had the travel system in its huge box in our bedroom since I was about 15w! In our case, the three parts all come in the same box so we decided not to assemble them because it would take up even more space.

I think the compact, white box blends in a bit better with our bedroom furniture than the three parts of the travel system randonmly lying around the bedroom would.

I won't lie though - I've been tempted to take it all out the box but that's just because I'm excited Grin

Just do whatever will make your life easier.

fonxey · 07/07/2019 15:02

Do whatever you want. Either way box or pram it'll take up space.

Mine's in the garage. I want to build it really just so i can play with it haha! But decided against it. Still got 5 months and i don't want it just collecting spiders.

lovehasadiameter · 07/07/2019 15:07

I built mine and just put the rain cover over it. I used the excuse that I wanted to see how it folded up etc and that the box took up too much space. Really I was just too excited to wait Grin

hormonesorDHbeingadick · 07/07/2019 15:08

Surely you need to open it to check its all there and works Wink

HJWT · 07/07/2019 15:17

@hormonesorDHbeingadick haha! Iv already done that then closed it back up 🤫

If I had a garage or spare room id put it away for a few more weeks but its 3 large box's for the pram then a box with the carseat and then carseat base all in front of the window to 😂

I'd build it straight away 😂
I'd probably buy things quite late into pregnancy to ensure I don't open them all early! Grin

I kept my carseat in the car and the buggy in the boot I had to buy mine earlish as they were on sale also the buggy was anyone hand fold down so I wanted to give it a go I used to work in an airport and the amount of people who couldn't work their own buggys made me think that they were impossible

Starlight84 · 07/07/2019 16:57

Well I built mine the night before my sections with my previous 2! Not fun! This time I’ve a lovely pre owned pram that’s at my friends already up in her spare room out my way! I’m superstitious. I will probably get it a couple of days before my date! She may even drop it round while I’m in hospital lol x

HJWT · 07/07/2019 20:25

@Starlight84 that was very kind of her! I don't have anyone I can leave it with 😭 my mums house is already full haha xx

What pram did you go for? I'm so tempted to get mine too but like you I've no where to store it as we don't have a garage or spare room.
If you do build it, upload a piccy 😁 xx

TwoShades1 · 08/07/2019 05:52

Do whatever is most convenient for you. Remember that the pram is an item made of metal/plastic/fabric and was made in a factory somewhere. It has no connection to the physical and biological processes occurring in your uterus. If your very superstitious you may mentally feel better about leaving it until closer to your due date/birth.

Starlight84 · 08/07/2019 06:18

@HJWT I know bless her! It’s currently in her daughters room. She’s at uni. If she comes back early at Christmas she will just move it to her garage. Xx

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 08/07/2019 12:49

I built mine early with my first, to save space with the boxes because I was excited and wanted to play with it

Amanda2879 · 08/07/2019 13:02

I got mine second hand as wanted classic bouncy chassis at 11 weeks pregnant left it built and had sitting in hall or conservatory and with my other son few years ago now was same 3 big boxes and took all out assembled and was so much easier to store in house then rather than boxes as was all assembled and compact but end of day decision is up to u if want build or not but no reason really can’t build it though

HJWT · 09/07/2019 15:42

@gkeal3 I went for the Bugaboo fox! 😁 got £150 of it, DH rolled his eyes at the price 😂

Think I will build it this weekend, saying out loud today I have 14 weeks left made me realise how fast it is actually going 😵 xx

gkeal3 · 09/07/2019 15:56

@HJWT ooh let me know what you think of it, that's the one I plan to get x

HJWT · 09/07/2019 16:21

@gkeal3 I will! If you get it natural baby shower does 10% of when you sign up for emails! I will put a pic up when its built 😁 x

We got Grey melange with black frame, Cybex carseat and base, buggy board, cup holder, phone holder and carseat adapters for £1440! A lot of money but at least with bugaboo when you sell you get a good amount back x

That's a good deal! I'll check that site out thanks.
Im going for maxi cosi car seat as I have the base already. I'm looking at either all black frame and black fabrics or black frame, black fabrics and white hood...not sure yet. I've bought the changing bag and phone holder already.

I'm still not 100% decided on the fox or cameleon....I like how the fox is bigger but I prefer the price of the cam 🤣

HJWT · 13/07/2019 15:30

@gkeal3 its so beautiful 😍 HAHA! Took me an hour to build from watching the youtube tutorial ! I much prefer the Fox! My sister has the cam and I helped her build it 😁 x
