Hideous daily headaches at 13 weeks

Really struggling with this. Had horrible nausea until 12 weeks - only eating beige carbs helped - and it’s started to ease off now I’m at nearly at 13 but it’s been replaced by horrible daily headaches.
I suffer from migraines anyway but these feel like tension headaches - starting from the shoulders and going up the back of my head. Feels like my head is in a vice and I just have to lie down when they come on.
I’m at my wits end as it’s happening every day - midwife just says take paracetamol but I’m worried about taking paracetamol every day?
Has anyone had this and found anything that helps?

I had this in both pregnancies. Interestingly didn’t have one migraine throughout either pregnancy but did suffer with the headaches you describe, daily as well for the first half of pregnancy.

I also felt bad about taking paracetamol (read too much about it on the internet) burn MW and consultant and GP all kept saying it was fine.

Thing is normally I would find plain paracetamol wouldn’t do much for my headaches but it did seem to work when pregnant. I found soluble paracetamol most effective (I don’t know why).

Good news is they do go away after about 20 weeks and then you get a break from headaches and paracetamol!!

Thank you! Did they recommend you stick to a particular dose? Did you take it throughout the day @sadie789 ? Or just one dose?
Sorry for all the questions I can’t find a proper answer my midwife said two 500mg tablets is fine but unsure if she means just two per day or if I can take the standard dose throughout the day IYSWIM.
Desperate to ease them - I’ll try the soluble kind!

I had this type of headache around 16 weeks for two weeks, thankfully they went away and I haven't had any since. Doctor said it was hormonal

I just picked the plain paracetamol (I chose the Panadol green packet) and followed the dosage they recommend (think it’s 2 tablets 4 times a day max) usually I could get rid with just one set of two tablets. Occasionally it would take two hits. I would always be conscious of taking another dose unless I really had to.

Equally though, writhing about in pain and feeling stressed about having a headache is not going to be good for you either so best to try and nip it in the bud.

It’s not ideal to take paracetamol but it’s well tested and also the first thing they offer you when you’re in labour... so it can’t be that bad!

Thank you! It’s finally eased off this evening, I’m going to pick up some soluble paracetamol tomorrow
