Hello All,

Today I am 15w5d of my pregnancy. I had a bleeding episode with bright red blood and 2 small clots while peeing at my 14 weeks(June 23rd) we rushed to the emergency and they did a scan everything seems to be fine with baby and cervix.
And today after 10days After that episode I saw a dark brown clot. It was one clot with no bleeding observed.

Can somebody help me understand why this is happening to me.
It is getting stressful for me day after day.
Your support is appreciated.

I had this in both pregnancies. Haematoma something or other. Have 2 teenage DSs now. I stopped bleeding around 17 weeks (in one pregnancy the bleeding lasted from 6 weeks to 17 weeks on and off). Hope all goes well x

Sub chorionic haematoma I think it was called

Siri2546 · 05/07/2019 07:35

Can it be seen in the ultrasound ?

@Siri2546, yes a sub chorionic haematoma can be seen on ultrasound- my DSS partner is 27 weeks pregnant and has had bleeding pretty much since Easter and, at every scan, they measure the size of the haematoma - and it is reducing each time even though she still has regular bleeds.

Brown blood is old. It might be that this most recent bit is from the previous episode...

If you're anxious, get it checked!

Dark brown blood is old blood, so it may not indicate a fresh bleed. I appreciate that it is still very worrying for you. Ring your midwife or the hospital for advice.

I had a massive bleed at 14 weeks with DS2 bright red gushing. Baby was fine ... they said it was because my placenta was low / covering the cervix. It moved by 20 weeks but I did continue to have bleeding episodes (always unexplained) throughout my pregnancy. I had to go be checked each time. Usually just a swab to check it wasn't something like an infection. Baby was always fine and cervix was always closed.

Very scary and stressful. But yeh maternity service always too great care of me
