Should be 12 weeks today had felt al the way through this pregnancy it was too good to be true. It felt like a strong pregnancy to begin with though but then I had some brown mucus yesterday and they gave me an emergency scan and there wasn't anything there just a sac really. Baby stopped developing at 6-7 weeks.
It all coming away today it's sore! It's sad! I'm 40 will I be able to conceive again? Are my eggs just bad eggs now?

So sorry for your loss @sweetiepie1979 , I read somewhere that most women experience a miscarriage in their life , I myself have experienced one recently and I am 26 therefore I think sometimes it's just bad luck , definitely keep trying again and hopefully the next bean will be a healthy pregnancy

Hi I had a missed miscarriage at age 42 and went on to have a baby at 45 if that helps

RedSheep73 · 04/07/2019 17:37

I'm sorry. I had a couple of them myself so I know how it feels. Unfortunately it is more likely, the older you get, but I'm sure you knew that anyway. All the best for next time.

Sorry for your loss, I had a miscarriage at 40, 9 months later aged 41 I was pregnant again am now 5 months.
At your age you should still have a little time and some good eggs left.

I'm sorry for your loss @sweetiepie1979. I had a missed miscarriage in April, I'm 35. I've started taking ubiquinol which is supposed to help with egg quality.

Be kind to yourself, it's such a heartbreaking thing to go through. It does get easier though Flowers

My fertility clinic suggested early miscarriages are more likely to do with older or damaged sperm than older or damaged eggs. Suggest both of you get on vitamins (I was recommended Pregnacare Max and co-enzyme q10 to improve my egg quality; my DH was recommended Wellman Conception).

I had a miscarriage in October at 39. I’m now 40 and almost 25 weeks pregnant.
I fell 3 days before my 40th. We are all different, but I would certainly try again.

DC1 at 41, MMC at 42, BFP at 43 with a baby due this year aged 44. It's horrible but it happens and doesn't have to mean the end.

sheshootssheimplores · 04/07/2019 22:16

I have had five miscarriages in all. Had DS1 at 37 and DS2 at 40. I think you can be very hopeful. Keep trying OP XX

I’m sorry for your loss💐. I had my third child at 42, healthy pregnancy and birth. Thinking about you

So sorry @sweetiepie1979 I experienced a MMC last year when I was 37. I was 11 weeks found out at my NIPT harmony scan and was devastated. I have a DS who is nearly 3. I fell straight away with him, no issue. I had a further 2 MCs last year but I am now pregnant again - nearly 9 weeks. It's hard and you do get paranoid about egg quality etc as you get older and I'll be honest it may mean it takes slightly longer because the eggs can be more mixed but you will get there. Stay strong and ensure you are well supported. I started taking coenzyme q-10 and I'm hoping, for this one it has helped. It's meant to assist with egg quality. Good luck op and don't give up x
