just being nosey who gave birth in the nude!! or what did u wear

just been thinking about when i gave birth
i was totally naked, i was in the bath for 12 hours then the birth pool for one though
i remember reading the leaflet about water births that said "some ladis prefer to wear a bikini top or tshirt in the pool"
so i packed my little vest top
when i was in labout though i totally didnt care didnt feel in the slightest embarssed [and i can be quite shy]as soon as i went to get in the bath i stripped off
also i woundnt of cared if 10 million people where watching me !
how did you feel about this ?

These are hilarious - I've been giggling at those of you who tried to march naked across the ward... I bet you're all normally quite modest and sensible too!

I wore a nightie but there were so many people watching ds1 come out I needn't have bothered. I remember a paedriatrician who looked about 17 sitting down facing my rear end to observe the grisly action.

amexgirl- i am usually quite a prude yes!! but when i'm in labour all inhibitions seem to go out of the window! i'll be naked for this one as well as i'm hoping for a home water birth, but the only concern is that the pool will have to go in the kitchen and i am in close proximity to my dear neighbours who if i am not careful will have front row seats to watch the action!!!

White M&S nightshirt but I also didn't care. People would walk in and DP or midwife would cover up my bottom half and I'd be thinking "Why are you doing that, I'm not bothered?"

i wore a minging hospital gown on as i threw up all over mine!!

I can't remember ! I know I threw up all over my tshirt and had to have it cut off because I was hooked up to drips and blood pressure monitors.

1st time around in a tshirt in birthing suite on the bed (cause was told I had to lie down for monitoring grrrrr)
2nd time around starkers in the pool

With ds2 I arrived at the hospital fully dressed, plopped onto my knees by the bed to get trhough a contraction, and heard the midwife saying that the birthing pool was ready for me. As soon as the contraction was over I was stripping my clothes off as fast as they could go. I htink dh was helping me. I heard an expression of surprise from behind me but ignored it. As well as dh and the mw, I have no idea who else was in the room - but it could have been the news crew from CNN and I wouldn't have paid any attention! Next thing I knew was that I was charging - stark naked - out of one room, across a little lobby, and into the pool room. I just made it before the next contration. I'd never been there before, didn't know that I was in an enclosed suite, for all I knew I might have been crossing the entire labour ward. Didn't even occur to me to be bothered - I had other things on my mind!

i was in pyjamas as i had been admitted the night before (i was only 29 weeks). I suddenly went into full throws of labour so just had time to whip me bottoms off and away i went. Millions of people in the room with me, one leg on a midwofe one on DH, just didn't care to be honest, even forgot to cover up after it was over!
