Whooping cough when pregnant

I work in a public facing job and came into contact with someone who said she has whooping cough. I'm currently 15 weeks pregnant so not had the jab yet. Is catching whooping cough when pregnant dangerous to baby? Obviously don't want it myself but more worried about baby. I rang my community midwife who couldn't answer so passed me on to early pregnancy unit who again couldn't answer and said I will need to speak to my GP. Can't get an appointment this week. Just wondered if anyone here has any knowledge/experience? Thanks

I think it's licensed from 16w but normally given after the second scan.

Whooping cough can be dangerous for your baby but they don't offer the vaccination until 16 weeks I believe but I'm sure if you explain your situation they will understand. My advice would be to try stay away from the person as much as you can and keep pushing at your gp to get you the vaccination ASAP . Good luck xx

Hi, you have probably been vaccinated against whooping cough as a child. This will likely offer you some protection. The reason why it's suggested to have it again if you are pregnant is explained here:
