So I’m currently 7 weeks pregnant, throwing up at least 6 times a day, exhausted and can barely look at the food I used to love. Yet my best friends have just been saying how one of them had ‘no pregnancy symptoms at all’ during her pregnancy. And my other friend said a girl she knows didn’t know she was pregnant until 10 weeks and another hasn’t been sick or felt poorly yet and is 20 weeks! Anyone else get a bit tired of your pregnancies being compared to other people’s?!

Hey OP I get what you mean but TBH I'm the worst one for comparing! I get so jealous when I hear about other people who haven't suffered that much during the 1st trimester.

I know 4 other ladies who are all pregnant and further along than me and none of them seem to be able to empathise with having your head in the toilet most days!

Most important thing is just to concentrate on your own body and what it needs, sod what everyone else is doing! You got this Smile

The one thing that’s amazed me most is how different everyone’s experience really is. I didn’t get that much morning sickness in the first trimester at all, but it hit me in the second, as well as incredible fatigue. I did NOT get the 2nd trimester glow. I had planned a trip to London alone for a gig and suddenly I was so sensitive to motion I was puking on the train all the way there and all the way home again. Got a lot of weird looks as I wasn’t showing much! I have two friends who had an awful first trimester, in bed and unable to eat properly for 3 months. But they were right as rain come their third, and the last month for me has been rough. Trapped in the house with pelvic girdle pain, possible early signs of preeclampsia so constantly being sent to hospital. And I have one friend who gave birth last week and sailed through the whole thing without so much as a dizzy spell.

I try to bear in mind too that every single pregnancy is different, apparently. So even though these friends have had a bad or good ride this time round, it might be different for them next time.

Thanks ladies! I know I’m only sensitive because of the hormones but having people constantly say ‘oh I was glowing my whole pregnancy and didn’t vomit once!’ Is getting RATHER old 😂
