Baby not wriggly

Hi, I'm 19.5 weeks pregnant with my second baby and I'm just after some reassurance Blush

First baby I started feeling move at 17 weeks and she was always very wriggly. Once I felt her I didn't stop feeling movement for more than a few hours at a time until birth.

This baby I have felt the odd bit of slight movement since 15/16 weeks but still nothing consistent. Sometimes it goes days between feeling anything. Sometimes I really have to jiggle around in order to get it to move.

I thought at nearly 20 weeks I'd be feeling more by now especially as I started feeling it sooner, and it's second baby. I'm also thinner this time so I thought I'd feel it easier. Are some babies just less wriggly? Obviously I am worried there's something wrong even though previous scan was fine.

Next scan isn't for another 2 weeks and I'm away on business in between so I can't really go bothering my midwife.

Just wondered if anyone had the same to reassure me Star

Do you know the position of your placenta? Maybe it is at the front this time so could be masking some of the movements?

Thanks for replying. I am pretty sure it's not at the front

My baby has wriggly episodes but I can go the whole day not feeling much. Tends to be most active evening - night and early morning.
I just went to see the MW for iron bloods and while I was there she offered to Doppler. She found HB, fine...but as she was measuring she said ‘can you feel baby wiggling about?’ And I couldn’t!! At my 20w scan two weeks ago I was told I have a high posterior placenta, so some babies might just be lighter in movement?! 🤷‍♀️

If you were exercising more before this pregnancy then it’s possible your core and abs have become stronger. You only feel Second pregnancies earlier if your muscles suffer permanent damage and weakness after the first.

Ok thank you. No I am pretty sure my stomach muscles are totally shot! 😅 so I don't think it's that. I know I will just have to wait til the scan and hope everything is ok. It's hard not to worry.

Hi, Im 26 weeks with my second also - ds1 I felt move at about 18 weeks and it was pretty consistent. This pregnancy movements have been more on and off...I often have to lie down to really feel it. That was until last weekend, the last few days he has been moving non-stop!
19/20 weeks is still early to feel strong movements, I'm sure within a couple of weeks it will be much stronger. I think with my first I was more aware of every movement, so it might be why you remember them differently.
