Weight gain by 22 weeks - is this normal?

Week 22/23 and gained 10kg since being pregnant! Pretty shocked by this. I'm only just over half way and I know normal weight gain is 16 kg max for whole pregnancy!

How is everyone else at this stage? Did anyone find fastest weight gain now?

I'm 23 weeks and have also put on 10kg, which I discovered yesterday and also had a panic! I'm hoping my weight gain will plateau! So just to let you know you're not on your own Smile

Yes I had put a stone on really quickly! I'm 30 weeks now and it's more than 2 stone already!

Eek I've put on about 10lbs in 18 weeks and starting to freak out a bit 😢

Rememberallball · 01/07/2019 23:13

Almost 27 weeks with twins and, so far, gained 18lbs which is at the lower end of the range using this calculator (which works by using your pre-pregnancy weight as a benchmark)

I'm 23 weeks tomorrow and I've put on 1 stone which I've also been freaking out about! It's pretty much exactly 1lb a week for me (except for one random week that was 2lbs) and suddenly everyone is commenting that I'm popping out!

I'm hoping that by taking back up walking and aquanatal I might slow things down a little (I previously ran a lot but have stopped the past few weeks due to intermittent sciatic pain and tiredness)

I'm 19 weeks and have put on 5 pound.

I have put nearly 10kg on and I'm 37 weeks. Everyone's different.

Mamabear12 · 02/07/2019 09:39

Each pregnancy is different. I gained 23 kilos with my first two. But I’m also thin and lost it all after. I think my metabolism slows during pregnancy. My friend only gained 8 kilos! Everyone is different. Just make sure your eating enough nutrients.

Bellasblankexpression · 02/07/2019 09:46

Eurgh, I just used that calculator and I'm 1.6 pounds over the highest amount I should have gained by 13 weeks - I didn't think I'd done too badly since I've only been able to stomach beige carbs due to sickness, and been constantly hungry!
Hopefully it will slow down a bit now I'm starting to feel a bit better and getting more active!

I would try not too worry too much tbh!
According to the link above I haven’t put on enough weight by today (34 weeks) and yet Ive put on more weight this pregnancy than I did with any of my other 3 and I can tell you they are all perfectly fine!
Like pp said, each pregnancy is different! I haven’t restricted anything I’ve eaten, eat as and when I feel like it, indulge etc etc and haven’t gained much (not particularly active either, more exhausted and lay down at every given opportunity)
Also - no, I’m not usually the type of person who can eat what they like and not have to worry! My early pregnancy bmi was in the overweight range (😡 which I’m annoyed about Cos I’d worked quite hard previously to get into the healthy range and obviously piled it all back on 🙈)

Im 22wks ive not put on any yet,but during pregnancy i put on a stone,im on baby no.6.we are all different but id say your normal in what u have put on.
dont think about your weight your growing a baby ,even when your baby is here i wouldnt worry takes your body 6-12months to get back to normal, dont be harsh on yourself, pregnant women look amazing x

Bellasblankexpression · 02/07/2019 14:27

it's interesting to see how different we all are, weight-gain wise! It makes sense, but it's easy to forget

Luxembourgmama · 02/07/2019 15:42

Me too! I gained 22kg last time and I lost it OK. So I'm not too worried.
