Hi everyone, I know this is a strange request and I?m not sure if this is the right thread to post on but ?

I am looking for a book about Pregnancy after Miscarriage and would genuinely appreciate your advice.

I have been a lurker on these threads for some time, but have not had the nerve to actually post (until now ).

Having lost 3 very much wanted pregnancies I would be grateful for any help and/or advice that you lovely ladies can offer .

Thank you.

First, i'm so sorry for your losses.

theres this and these. how long ago was your last mc? have you been referred yet?

IckyThump · 27/07/2007 10:00

Lissie thank you so much for the links, I shall take a look shortly .

I was lucky to be referred to a recurrent miscarriage clinic after my second mmc, where I had all the usual bloods etc. I was then advised to take low dose asprin.

Unfortunately, in Oct 06 I lost my 3rd at 10wks due to mmc and was referred again.

After a hysteroscopy/laparoscopy (sp?) I was diagnosed with a uterine septum which has now been removed with a laser and so I am all set to start again

Sorry, this is very me, me, me isn't it

How are you doing?

Ickythump

have a look on the Miscarriage / bereavement section you will find loads of advice and support from other who have been through the same. (help me loads)

lissie · 27/07/2007 10:25

not too bad. i find the ttc after mc thread and the hut of gloom really helpful. mc is a very isolating experience and it can be hard to juggle grief and RL. i had my 5th mc in 2y(7th overall) about a month ago, and can honestly say that ranting/crying/moaning on mn has really helped. are you on any other meds? will you be offered early tests etc?

lissie · 27/07/2007 10:28

and BTW, its your thread, you're allowed to hog it

IckyThump · 27/07/2007 10:42

Thank you again for being so helpful ladies

Lissie, I am so sorry for your losses . I know what you mean about dealing with grief and RL, just when you think everything is OK it comes back to bite you on the bum.

Currently, I am only taking Folic Acid (Sanatogen) and low dose asprin. As for being offered any early tests, not sure. With my last mmc I had a scan virtually every week (from 6 wks) so was very lucky.

Are you seeing a consultant for tests, and will you be offered any early tests/reasurrance scans once pg again?

yes we go back on mondayi will be prescribed clomid but am taking 500mg folic acid at the mo, cabn you ask them to prescribe a high dose for you?

it will get easier.

IckyThump · 27/07/2007 12:26

Sorry for not replying sooner - I'm at work so have to keep popping in and out.

I am not scheduled to see my consultant again so not sure if I could be prescribed a higher dose of folic acid by GP

I hope your appointment on Monday goes well. I am both and that it has taken this long for you to get any help. That old 'Postcode Lottery' thing again

As for it getting easier, of course it will. Soon we will all be complaining of sleepless nights etc due to our LOs .

Hi Icky - so sorry to read what you have been through. Ages ago I saw Zita West on This Morning and she was talking about a program she had set up with a specialist in the field of miscarriage. Have just googled and found the below.

www.zitawest.com/pdf/print.php?page=area&section=6

Have no idea where you are located, or what something like this costs but when I read your post, thought I would share. Don't know if it will help.

Best of luck with everything.

IckyThump · 27/07/2007 13:57

dal21 thank you so much for your advice, I will look into that .
