20 week scan - sonographer couldn't determine the sex!

I have patiently (ahem) waited for my 20 week scan, which I had today at 20+5. DH and I were very eager to find out the baby's sex.
However, baby had other ideas! I was sent for two walks and still baby would not budge. As a result, the sonographer couldn't complete all her checks and will have to repeat the scan in a couple of weeks. The organs the sonographer did see are all healthy.
I am feeling so disappointed, which I know is ridiculous! I suppose I had just built it up in my head that today was the day I would find out whether I am having a son or a daughter.
So, to cheer me up, does anyone fancy hazarding a guess at my baby's sex?! And has anyone had the same thing happen to them?

Could u pay for a private on for a few days. Ours is 60 pound. Doing it at hopefully 17 weeks though as I'm impatient

Absolutely no idea so going to randomly guess a girl!!

Skull theory suggests a boy 😁 but don't count on it! As PP said you could get a private scan or leave it as a surprise on baby's birth day!

Maybe book a private scan? It would likely be in 4D which would give you amazing detail of your baby. You could probably get one for a couple of days time.

@sweetsaltypopcorn I had 5 scans from 20 week to 40 weeks with my ds2 and they could never tell on any of the scans what the sex was

I know it's disappointing but you only have a couple of weeks to wait if they're going to repeat the scan.

We had the same with our second baby. I was all geared up to find out and they couldn't give us a definate sex. As they had all their checks/measurements we had to wait until DS was born to find out for definite (couldn't afford a private scan).

A private scan would be financially possible and I do have a 4D scan booked for 28 weeks. But I wanted to know TODAY! NOW!

I've caved and booked a private scan for tomorrow evening.
Here's hoping the baby will be in a better position by then! 🤞🏼

Similar happened at my 20 wk scan. She said baby wasn't in best position and she cldnt be sure. She said but I think it's a girl but don't run out and buy stuff, which was very helpful 🤷🏻‍♀️

Had a scan at 29wks for 4D one and it was a girl. Although pictures were rubbish I had to go back again and even second time she kept having her hands over her face and at one point her foot squished into her cheek.

I should have known she was trouble then 😂

If your other scan is soon I'd wait otherwise go private. I'm counting down the days till my 20 wk one but understand that I might not even know then 😫

Good luck today! I had the same problem so I booked in for a private gender scan as I just didn’t want to wait! It took a couple of attempts, and the sonographer got me to twerk around the room a bit to get her moving haha, luckily it worked!
