Teeth in pregnancy

I’m almost 12 weeks and a molar just broke. It had been re-filled by the dentist a couple of months ago and didn’t really feel right since.

A few people have said pregnancy can ruin your teeth and mine aren’t great anyway so now I’m paranoid!

I’m only 11 weeks and one broken already!

Anyone else have any tooth damage during pregnancy?

Oh god i had this with my son! One tooth broke on a crisp had it filled I got an infection I had it out it was a back tooth at the top so easy to hide, a month before I'm due my bottom back tooth broke in half had that out also due to an infection after it filled my teeth were so bad when I was pregnant still pearly white but felt sensitive all the time, this time around they are okay. I've heard during pregnancy the baby can take your calcium or something Confused

My teeth were a pain the the bum during pregnancy.. I got two infected ulcers under my gums which were agony, my teeth inexplicably turned yellow over night, my gums bled every day & my pushing up wisdom tooth cracked & got about 5 infections as well Confused

Not pleasant but you get everything free at least & some antibiotics are OK in pregnancy. Keep an eye on them & keep them as clean as you can! Mouthwash was helpful!

All back to normal now bar my yellow teeth.. once I’m done having babies I shall be saving up and getting them professionally whitened!

Oh no! Doesn’t bode well for me then, my teeth have never been great anyway.

@anitagreen this was on a crisp too!

@Bol87 it’s great that you get free dental care, would be an expensive time if not!

@sandytoes84 maybe crisps are just anti teeth Grin I've got this new mouthwash of Listerine it's like a dirty blue colour murky looking im testing it for mumsnet atm, it tastes like shite but my teeth have stopped hurting this time round could try that? Think it's £3 in Superdrug x
