When to tell work im pregnant?

i found out im pregant today (thinking 7-8 weeks), so no dating scan yet its still sinking in for me and my partner, i work as a cleaner but im supended at the moment, the supention would be over but they are stuggling to find me a new placement which could still mean firing me if no new placements come up soon.
Me and my partner have agreed to wait for my dating scan before telling family and friends
But i dont know if i should tell work now as i work with all sorts of cemicals and my last placement was a nursay and i kept getting alot of the bugs going around

If you work with chemicals you may want to tell them earlier than usual as they will need to perform a risk assessment.

If you want to remain in your job, I would tell your employer sooner because its normally more difficult for employers to fire pregnant employees.
However, it's for you to decide whether you want to be working with chemicals during your pregnancy.

I decided to tell my employer today, im hoping it wont make them get rid of me, but its better for both of us with all the chemicals, and they are a terrible company anyway
