Weird pregnancy cravings

I am pregnant with my second child. During my first pregnancy I had a weird craving for toilet roll. I would find myself thinking of nothing other than eating toilet roll. I would have 1-2 sheets per day. This time round I have the same cravings again. I'm finding myself eating more than last time and cant get it out of my head.
Is it really dangerous for the baby?
Did anyone else have bad cravings like this?
Midwife is aware and just laughed it off.
My iron levels are normal this pregnancy but were very low in my first pregnancy so not sure why I'm craving is more this time.
Anyone have any tips on how to kick this habit? Only have 5 weeks to go!

Hi,

I had to laugh when I ready this. A proper throw back!
I ate toilet role for years when I was a kid. Like you 1-2 sheets a day, couldn’t get enough of the stuff. I did it from ages 3-7 and didn’t seem to cause any problems but I’m not a doctor haha. Hopefully you just start to go off it like I did.

Xxx

Never heard of this craving!
I've been craving clay or chalk myself haha, having had heartburn bad for the past couple of weeks those chalk heartburn tablets have been doing the trick though!

Would eating rice paper satisfy the cravings? No flavour just like the toilet roll but at least you know it's edible!!

Good luck OP!

I knew someone who craved soap when they were pregnant! MIL craved chocolate dipped in vinegar when she was pregnant 🤢 No advice but is the midwife concerned at all? I was going to suggest rice paper or is there a type of edible paper you can get from the bakery aisle at the supermarket to eat?

I crave fabric conditioner and those lenor scent boosters. I don't eat them.. just sniff deeply!
