I have the kyleena iud but I’m a bit worried

I had sex with my boyfriend without condoms and he ejaculated in me multiple times from June 9-13th. I got my IUD in mid May and had it checked before we had sex without condoms. I thought I was fine because on June 13th I started my period but then once my period ended I had spotting for an extra week from June 19th until the 25th which didn’t even happen after I had the iud inserted nor in all of the times I’ve had a period in my entire life but I just didn’t connect it to me having sex until the other day. For the last 5-6 days I’ve had nausea all day long and a complete loss of appetite. I have had cramping in my lower abdomen as well since about two days ago. I have also been tired to the point of beginning to fall asleep while sitting up and even taking a nap which is really rare for me, only when I’m really sick. I took a pregnancy test which was negative and when I looked later it changed to positive which I guess is something called evaporation lines? I’ve taken three more since then and two have been negative. One was taken this morning and the other two were taken last night and tonight so my pee was a bit diluted. I used clearblue. I’m just a bit in over my head and lost. My next period isn’t until mid July but would I be in the clear since I’ve already had one?

Oh jeez there’s a lot to unpack here.

You said you’ve had your iud and in “all that time” so one month you’ve only had one period. That’s normal. In fact with an iud it’s normal to have sporadic and unreliable bleeding especially the first few months.

You said 1 out of 3 tests was positive? Was it positive within 2 minutes of checking? Were both lines the same colour, size and shape (as in test and control line).

Sounds to me like you are not pregnant though so I wouldn’t worry.

Did you only have the IUD inserted in May? It took my periods and bleeding months to settle down. In the end I had two 2-week long periods and then my next periods were extremely light. All over the course of a few months obviously. I expect it's your body getting used to the IUD that it bringing the changes you describe, it doesn't sound like it has been long

Sounds like your body is just adjusting to the IUS, especially as the tests were negative. You could do another test in a week or so just to be sure.

I’ve had two periods actually, my period after I got the iud and this one. They were both my regular kinds and I haven’t had anything out of the normal which is why the spotting threw me off but I didn’t think too much of it until after. I think I’ll just avoid taking anymore tests until closer to my next period which is mid July and try to stay calm lol

The cramping and spotting is your body getting used to the IUD. I had them on and off for 3 months after getting my Mirena coil. The other symptoms are likely coincidence, or another illness. You’ve had multiple negative tests, it’s very unlikely you’re pregnant. More likely is you’re feeling anxious about trusting the IUD. Just relax!
