Massive increase in movements

Hi all

I’m currently 34+4 and baby has been moving non stop for about three hours. He’s rolling and kicking and (I think) hiccuping. My stomach keeps going really hard and I can’t work out whether I should be worried or what is going on. I can’t find much on the internet. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks :)

You should get checked out for reduced movements OR changes in movements. Including moving more than usual.

I called triage the other day for increased movements and I was monitored etc. Everything was fine but they said I did the right thing.

Thanks all. Just rang antenatal ward and they said they’re not concerned if they’re moving more, just less!

Have you eaten anything particularly sugary? That sometimes sets them off.

Phone them back and say you are worried and want to come in, that’s very poor advice from them!

Was baby head up and now turning?

Fae1989 · 29/06/2019 22:36

@Crabbitstick - not recently. He normally goes a bit loopy for sugar though!

It’s calmed down a bit now. Possibly the heat?

He’s been head down at every appointment I’ve had for the last month or so so not sure re turning. It did feel like things were tightening on one side a few times so I’m wondering if it’s possibly movements combined with Braxton hicks?
