Help!!! I have been eating well and walking lots but the weight just keeps piling on!
I gained 4.5 stone with my last baby and I'm terrified get huge again! With 13 weeks left and the rate it's piling on I'm scared it's happening again!
Did this happen to anyone else! My first baby was a 10lb baby!

I’m only 19 weeks and already quite overweight put on just shy of a stone. Its been a lot harder to control my weight than i thought. I still have nausea which is only managed when i have something in my stomach. Is it that?

Is it realistically portion size? Activity? Did you start at a low BMI?I know for me, I’ve moved a lot less due to all day sickness and eaten a lot more (nausea). Some women also just seem to pack it on. I’m trying to increase protein and decrease the vast amount of carbs now that I’m feeling better and start to increase activity. It’s either inexplicable or it’s food and activity.

Was it water weight weight i.e. swelling etc last time? If it came off quickly previously I’d be ok with it if you are finding it’s not within your control. If it comes off relatively easy I wouldn't beat yourself up but if you are gaining to quickly and you can’t figure out why is it worth having a chat with your midwife to double check?

You have my sympathy though, I didn’t understand how much of a number pregnancy can do on you until I got pregnant myself. It can be a struggle.

I'm trying to ignore the weight on the scales and think about whether I'm being healthy. As PP said, there are lots of reasons why some people put more on than others.
Also agree on the looking for things to improve. No point in looking at what has already happened, just focus on being as good as possible - for me that's cutting out the sweet treat I've been giving into most afternoons as otherwise I'm happy with the diet.
If you are being super healthy and active and the weight just goes on.. that might just be how your body is? You're growing another human so don't be too hard on yourself!!

Last time it was actual fat. I was over weight when I got pregnant and then just went with the "eating for two" and went to town. So after baby was born I was 4.5 stone heavier!
I had a healthy bmi when I got pregnant this time and was a keen runner. My problem has always been that if I look at food I put weight on - I got that from my mums genes! But now I can't run like I could and it's obviously my bodies way of adjusting. It's just hard psychologically. I had eating disorders growing up so think the lack of control when pregnant in weight is tough for me. I'm just scared of being huge again and not being able to shift it after the baby comes.
