Maternity swimsuit - for actual swimming

I've been searching fo this for weeks so I don't think it exists, but one of you clever people might be able to help.

I'm after a maternity swimsuit for actual swimming not beach lounging - ie, not a tie-up halter-neck, no ruffles and definitely not one shoulder.

The problem is I'm 5ft10, so normal swimsuits disappear up my bum (sorry, tmi).

Before I was pregnant I usually wore sporty bikinis, but I'd rather not flaunt the bump at the leisure centre.

So I'm either after a tankini or a tall swimsuit. If it looks nice that's a bonus, but at this stage I'd go for anything that might fit.

Help!

Following this one as I have the same problem!

The next plain black bandeau maternity one was good for me 5ft8 and they still have them, also they’ve a speedo one that may work.

I got one from Sainsbury's for my holiday that would do the jobs. Any other styles my boobs just fell out!

I got a maternity swimsuit for 'proper' swimming from wiggle.com I think it was a Zoggs one.

I got my swimsuit from TU (Sainsbury’s) online.

I’m 6 foot, pregnant with twins, and happily wearing an M&S tummy controlled swimsuit until 6 months gone. Admittedly it was in a bigger size. Covered my ever growing arse and bump well.
I’m cheap though and refuse to spend money on something I’m gonna wear for only a few months.
Hopefully I’ll get some use out of it post pregnancy, cause I don’t think I’ll lose the baby weight quickly.

I’m now seven months and can barely move due to huge bump in water or out so am in pregnancy two piece.

I wore my Long Tall Sally one right through both pregnancies. Haven't had a look at their swimwear recently, but they certainly used to do stuff that was actually fit for swimming in!

I’m 5”7 size 10 with a reasonable 23 week bump. I brought a JoJo cossie this week and tried it this morning. It is a halter neck (which I wasn’t sure on) but I felt well supported. It is very flattering and comfortable and still has space to grow. Highly recommended.

I had a Slazenger one in my first pregnancy. Not particularly pretty but definitely one for actually swimming in. Think it only cost me £5 too as it was in the sale.

Lots of ideas - thank you! The tall/ preggers/ swimming combo does seem to be tricky.

I've ordered a Figleaves suit in the next size up that I hope will do me for a few months.

I have this. Not cheap but good and works for post partum wobble too!

Mrsmummy90 · 29/06/2019 07:19

I'm 5'9 and got mine from Asda. It's great!

randomsabreuse · 29/06/2019 07:27

Decathlon had a good maternity one.

Erismorn · 29/06/2019 07:27

I've got the Speedo essential maternity swimsuit (same one Napqueen posted) I'm not as tall as you (5'8") but it seems roomy. They do a good range of sizes. It's definitely for proper swimming.

£13.50 on Amazon at the moment
