I am 27 weeks and booked in to get my hair highlighted but wondered if it was safe?

Yes, it is safe. The NHS have recognised that the chemicals used in hair treatment are toxic, but only in industrial quantities.

One thing to bear in mind, though, is that your hair may take the bleach differently to pre-pregnancy colouring.

Mine lifted faster and more brightly, my hair tolerated it well. But I know other women who had issues with course hair and not getting the same lift from the bleach.

Also have a patch test at least 48hrs before, since our skin is more sensitive in pregnancy in many cases.

Enjoy 😊
