Waters broke??

I am 38+2 pregnant and I've been to the toilet 3 times in an hour to go for a wee however it does not look like urine at all. It is clear and does not have a smell, which is similar to amniotic fluid. However I am not leaking it, and it's only coming out when I go to have a wee. Is it possible for my waters to have broke, but me not be leaking it in my underwear or anything

Go and lie down with a pad on for an hour, then stand up. If you get a small gush after standing up it's possible you are losing waters (hind waters) Mine smelled faintly of hay.

If you were losing waters you would not be able to hold it in and only lose it when weeing. And if it was your full waters it would be very very obvious.

I lost my waters with my first when I went to the toilet! I second pp. it smelled of hay - sweet hay if that makes sense! I did feel a pop with mine though so I knew they had gone! Also I didnt experience all the drama which most people here seem to talk about - gushing etc! Mine was just a tiny bit with dc1 & 2 (didn’t soak through my trousers even with dc2) and dc3 they broke my waters, but I don’t think there was masses then either - none of what I hear about people saying it went everywhere and soaked through several inco sheets etc etc!
I am so paranoid about the little amount of waters I had with those (only this time realising it’s not quite normal) that I’m asking them to double check at each growth scan I’m having!
Anyway, point being you can always ring the mw/delivery suite etc and explain and they can give you better guidance! It is worth them knowing because if it is your waters there are guidelines for having contractions and giving birth within 48hours I think (was 24hours when I had my other dc but seems to have changed!)

Mine went when I was changing the toddlers bedding- thought I’d wet myself and was most pissed off at the final loss of dignity.

PP are right when they say you won’t be able to control it. If you were leaking it would be very stop-start, as the baby’s head acts kind of like a plug and when they move it you’d lose more fluid.

It also has a mild, but really distinct smell.
