Have a hair dressers appointment for a complete hair makeover however found out I am 5 weeks pregnant, can I still get my hair dyed? What are the risks, I don’t want to do anything that puts a risk on my baby’s well being!

It’s such a tricky one, I’ve decided against having my hair coloured as it’s usually bleached and I don’t want the worry (I’m a worrier anyway).
But no doubt you’ll have some responses on here of women who do colour their hair.
The NHS website states research on this subject is limited so I’ve just decided for me personally not to go ahead with any colour, I’m blonde so hoping the sun over the summer will give me a natural highlight! X

I'm having my hair done tomorrow. I have balayage so they dye the mid to ends with bleach not anywhere near the scalp. I probably wouldn't get my hair dyed all over when pregnant.

@Tr13d as long as the room is well ventilated you will be fine, its breathing in the chemicals you don't want to do! Same with acrylics nails etc!

Using colour when pregnant though may not come out exactly as you expect and also better not to put bleach on your scalp x

If your not putting it on the root you have nothing to worry about, if you are make sure your hairdresser only leaves you for the necessary time, chemicals can sink into your scalp but not enough can go through your blood stream to the baby that it would have a bad effect...
