Hospital bag queries!

You’d think being dc4 I’d be more clues up 🤣 but there has been 8 years in between!

33+2 but I don’t know whether it will be natural/induction/csection yet (risk factors dependent) My others were all natural and I left hospital within a few hours of birth so not much was needed (or even thought about 😳)

Anyway I have slowly been packing my hospital bag but am stuck with a few things!
Basically I need to know how many of certain items is best to pack? Eg:
Vests
Babygros
Nappies
Hats & scratch mitts?
Blankets? Etc
And for me... how many nursing bras,
Breast pads
Maternity pads
Sets of pjs/clothes etc

I planned on packing a bag for me and another for baby, BUT was thinking maybe have a small amount of all the basics for us both in 1 bag (with the hope of a straight forward quick delivery) and then a separate for extras that dh can grab if I need them? Which I could keep in the car. What’s best?
Help!!!!!!

In my bag I had 3 vests and baby grows, 3 pairs of pj’s for me, 2 bras and a box of maternity pads and breast pads.

I then had an identical bag with 3 more of everything at home handy so that if I had to stay in longer DH could just pick it up easily and bring it to me.

I also recommend having another bag with spares in. Sometimes there isnt much room in the hospital for loads of stuff, and you could be in and out really quickly. I am an 'over packer' by nature, and always go overboard. But I found having a spare bag that was left in the car so that hubby could just nip out and get it was fab.

In my main bag i think i had a few body suits and sleep suits, whole pack of nappies, big wad of maternity pads and breast pads, lots of cheap big knickers (black) couple of bras and couple of changes of pj's/birth outfits. Plus snacks, tens machine, phone, charger etc. Also had 1 baby blanket I think, but ended up using the ones the hospital provided, and it was so hot in the maternity ward and I didnt use any hats, mittens etc.

Had more of everything (except tens machine) in the spare bag in the car, including going home clothes as I wouldn't need those till the end.

I also left my spare bag in the car a few weeks before due date as it was packed. So also had the added security that if I did go into labour early and had no time to go and get my main bag, that I had most things with me already.

Honestly? I'd pack enough for baby for two nights and two nights for you. Then whatever you want I labour.

If something happen and you need to stay longer people can bring things in for you.

Rocking up to hospital with so many bags and leaving some in the car is a pain. Just take basics and if you need anything else, DH can go and get it.
