Anyone else just found out they're having DC3?

I've know for about a week due to horrific sickness and sore boobs but took a test yesterday to confirm. I don't know how far along I am as I have pcos and irregular periods. Anyone else pregnant with DC3? My DC are nearly 8&6 so I'm a bit scared about the age gap!

I’m 7+5 with DC3. I’m also scared about the age gap but for a different reason - mine will be 4 and 2 when the baby arrives!

Mamabear12 · 26/06/2019 09:49

I am 15 weeks and the gap will be 6 and 7 (almost 8) years, so similar to your gap. We planned for this though, as always wanted a third, but felt the older two had to get easier before going for it. I think it will actually be a lot easier having them at school so I can focus on the baby. We have an au pair though to do the school runs so that helps a lot.

I am pregnant with DC3 (DC5 if you include the step-kids!). My youngest is 12 😬

MumbleLumble · 26/06/2019 16:32

What symptoms have you all had so far? I don't know I got through work today, I feel so sick constantly. I'm getting a digital test tonight to get a better idea of how far along I am.

I am 8 weeks today, just few nauseous all the time, gone off most food and drink. Sore boobs and super tired.

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 26/06/2019 17:25

I’ve just felt exhausted (not helped by a 20 month old who still doesn’t sleepy through the night Hmm), feel sick (mostly mornings and evenings).

I had the usual pulling and stretching feelings about 4/5 weeks but not since.

I’ve got an early scan booked for Monday and I’m convinced they’ll say there’s nothing in there!

LizzieLookAtTheFlowers · 26/06/2019 17:36

[wave] Hi! Yes, me. Age gaps will be 8 and 4. Total shock and don't really know how it's possible, to be honest - I'm on the pill and we only did it once in May! But I am 9 weeks today.

Taken a while to get used to the idea. Particularly worried about giving birth again, as two fairly traumatic deliveries in the past. Hope it's 3rd time lucky.

Has anyone told their kiddies yet?

EnsignRoLaren · 26/06/2019 17:47

You guys are giving me hope! I have two (7 and 3) and am very very keen on having DC3. We tried for a while with no success, and then life got in the way a bit. I’m hoping DH will be open to trying again as he is a bit afraid of the age gap. Great to hear others are braving it! A colleague just had DC3 with 9 and 6 year olds, and everyone is thrilled 😀. Good luck!

MumbleLumble · 26/06/2019 18:04

Lizzie, no I haven't told mine. My nearly 8 year old would keep it secret but the nearly 6 year old definitely wouldn't. Would love to be able to tell them though. I can't wait until I can. I need to ring the doctors/midwife. I can't remember what I did last time.

Cletter, I really want to get an early scan. I don't believe I'm actually pregnant! Let us know how it goes. How much did it cost if you don't mind me asking?

OP posts:
Clettercletterthatsbetter · 26/06/2019 22:26

@MumbleLumble it’s £130, which I think is comparable to what we paid last time (used to live in London, now SE but not London).

I think you can get them much cheaper at places like Babybond or the other national chains.

ryme07 · 26/06/2019 22:44

I'm 13 weeks and have a 3 year old and 1 year old. I've always wanted 3 kids but now that I'm pregnant I can't help but worry about whether people will judge me for having a 3rd with a small age gap :(

Starlight84 · 26/06/2019 22:49

12 weeks today (scan tomo!!) with dc3. My youngest nearly 11 and eldest is nearly 14! Hence why I am struggling for it to sink in. Very scared xx

mistermagpie · 26/06/2019 23:09

I'm 17 weeks with #3. My other two are 2 and 3 (nearly 4) - the idea of three under five and three when none are at school (in Scotland they don't go til 5) is giving me the fear!

MumbleLumble · 27/06/2019 06:57

@clettercletterthatsbetter thank you, I live in the North East, so it will probably be cheaper around here. I never even thought about an early scan with my first 2 but I had an early miscarriage about 3 years ago so I'm over analysing everything. I think I feel slightly less sick today so now I've convinced myself I'm going to have a miscarriage again as my hormone levels must be dropping. I feel like it's all I think about.

@ryme07 @mistermagpie I wish I was having a smaller age gap. My friend/neighbour has a 6, 5 and 4 year old and always says although it's hard, she loves having a small age gap as they all get on so well and no one round here judges her.

MumbleLumble · 27/06/2019 07:04

@Starlight84, good luck today! Please come back and let us know how the scan goes. You must be so excited. At least with such a big age gap you'll have plenty of helpers! There's an 11 year age gap between me and my brother and I helped my mum loads when he was born.

Starlight84 · 27/06/2019 07:42

@MumbleLumble I will do :) I’m hoping that will be the case but she is typical stroppy teen!! We shall see! They may surprise me xx

MumbleLumble · 27/06/2019 19:09

How did it go today starlight? I've got my first midwife appointment on Tuesday. I did a digital test but it said 3+ so I still don't actually know how far along I am. Really struggled with sickness at work today.

Starlight84 · 27/06/2019 19:41

My scan went well thank you. Healthy happy stubborn baby in there! Xx

MumbleLumble · 28/06/2019 08:02

Great news starlight. Glad it went well!

@Starlight84 that is great news. Hoping to get my scan date through soon. I turn 18 weeks on the 17th July and we go on holiday on 23rd for 15 nights, then back a few days and off to Ireland for my sister's wedding so hope we can squeeze it in!

Had booking in appointment on Wednesday, and it all feels a bit more real now.

Everyone keeps telling me I will show super early as it is number 3. ( weeks and nothing yet - I have a bridesmaid dress to fit into in 7 weeks time though eek!
