He didn’t. He wasn’t anywhere close to being engaged when I was induced. He was born at 40+15

Mintypea5 · 25/06/2019 18:19

About 38 weeks? Didn't stop him being 2 weeks overdue!

anonforthespies43267 · 25/06/2019 18:23

I’m due Friday & baby is still all over the place. I don’t even have any pelvic pressure 🙄 people due after me have already had their babies x

TerribleTwosPhase · 25/06/2019 18:23

DD engaged at 34 weeks. I was going away for the week the next week and it made me really nervous! I went in to Labour at 40 weeks.

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 25/06/2019 18:29

I'm 38 weeks today. Baby has been 4/5 engaged for more than 2 weeks. I really hoped she'd be further down today. I feel like I've got a long wait ahead of me

I never felt dd engage but had to have a scan at 36 weeks as they couldn't tell which end her head and bum were, so needed to check if she was breech. Turned out her head was very very low. Should have clued me into the fact that she was getting ready as she arrived at 37+4.

cannotmakemymindup · 25/06/2019 19:10

Dd never did and was 42+1 in the end. Sorry probably not what you wanted to hear. It did mean she was still moving lots which was a comfort know she was a ok.

Newmumma83 · 25/06/2019 19:14

Baby was engaged at 37 weeks had at 41 weeks ... never felt engaged though could walk normally throughout ... perhaps never dropped particularly low ... I knew I was getting ready for labour has had a show about 5 days prior to labour and period pains from 5 days onwards ( nothing that stopped sleeping / eating or general life though )

I don’t know if it is what hurried it up but seduced the husband as was getting desperate and the next morning is when I had the show .... bounced up and down on birthing ball a lot too in hope gravity would do some of the work 😂😂 x x

Must be so hard in this heat! Fingers crossed soon x x

@Newmumma83 since seeing the midwife yesterday, who told OH we need to have lots of sex you get baby out Shock, I've told him we need to DTD every day now. Willing to try anything that might help 😂

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts my midwife told me not to bother with sex etc, said it won’t work (thank god as I can’t be bothered 😂)

She said walking and bouncing on a birthing ball would have with position but nothing will work enough to induce labour x

Slicedpineapple · 26/06/2019 12:19

36 weeks. Was born at 38 + 6.

Slicedpineapple · 26/06/2019 12:20

anonforthespies I dunno...I was trying raspberry leaf tea, hot curries, going over speed bumps in my car with crap suspension. Had sex and starting having contractions 30 mins later.

ghrufh · 26/06/2019 12:20

I believe that DD was engaged at my 36w check up. I think that's pretty standard with first babies (according to my MW...)

ghrufh · 26/06/2019 12:21

Oh and born at 40+6 with spontaneous labour beginning 40+4

Buyitinbamboo · 26/06/2019 12:22

DD engaged at about 34 weeks. Was born at 39. Felt like I was walking around with a bowling ball in between my legs for 5 weeks

cardboard33 · 26/06/2019 12:41

I got told at 36+5 that I wasn't engaged at all as I asked (although I also have a scan where they said baby's head was very low...hmm) and I went into labour the following evening and he was born in the early hours of 37+0. I don't think you'll get anything from this thread as everyone is different, some people have very quick first labours (ie: me), other people keep going to the bitter end then end up with a 5 day labour.

mistermagpie · 26/06/2019 17:19

He didn't engage until I was in labour, I was examined the day before and head was free, then he was born 24 hours later at 38 weeks!

DeadDoorpost · 26/06/2019 17:20

Fully engaged at 41+2 the day he arrived. Before then he was happy to be all over the place
