Hair dye UK

So, after years of stress at work my hair has lost pigmentation.
I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant and my midwife didn't seem to have an answer, does anybody know if it's safe to get hair coloured? Not bothered about the colour going a bit different, more about it damaging the baby!

Any help gratefully received!

One app I have puts buying pregnancy-friendly hairdye on the to-do list of a week 4, so I assume it is possible to find some somewhere.

NHS says it's ok but that some women wait until after the first trimester. It doesn't actually say you need to wait though

It's fine to dye your hair.

My main issue is when I had time free to dye it I felt sick.

To be honest OP you need to work out now what you are going to do for the first few months when you are too busy to go to a hairdresser.

You can dye your hair with natural foodstuffs. My hair was a steely grey after growing back from losing it all with chemotherapy. I didn't want to subject my system to even more chemicals.

I brew up 6 camomile teabags, 2 redbush teabags, quarter of a teaspoon of instant coffee and a tiny pinch of turmeric (use the end of a flat handled tsp to take a tiny pinch) in a teapot. I leave this to go cool and pour over clean dry hair and comb through. I then just leave it in and style. It fades a bit after one wash but not completely. I use my tea concoction every time I wash my hair. It turns my steely grey hair to a mid ash blonde colour.

Generally camomile and turmeric give golden tones. Turmeric is pretty powerful though people do use it to turn their hair cartoon yellow. Redbush tea gives red tones and coffee brown tones.

Thanks everyone.

I'm going to go for it and get it done, it's a massive tell tale to people that something is up so I think I need to try and get it sorted.

To be honest, I'm so vain and self conscious that I'm sure I can find an hour to get it done once baby is here or you never know I may not care anymore but either way I'm sure our new normal will mean it sorted one way or another!
