hi all,

bit of background - I have anxiety and mild OCD anyway but after a first trimester miscarriage last year that has caused my anxiety to go through the roof in this pregnancy. I am 17 weeks today and thought I would of calmed down a bit by now but the newest thing I have read about online (stupidly) is cervical incompetence.

I had to have surgical management last year for the miscarriage and it went well no complications but now I have terrified myself into thinking this could somehow cause me problems this time as ln a lot of websites I'm seeing previous surgeries and history of d and c. I also have been told that surgical management is different to d and c and when I reread my leaflet from last year about the risks of the procedure it causing a weakened cervix was not listed. I think my anxiety has just spiralled where I have seen d and c listed as a potential risk factor. can someone reassure me please! if anyone should stay away from Google it is definitely me!

thanks so much x

sorry to add to this - it's just nice to have somewhere to write all my crazy fears out. I guess considering how many people have surgical management for missed miscarriage etc. that do have children after. midwife said its normally procedures relating to cancer/abnormal cells that cause these kind of issues and they would never routinely check unless you hit a number of criteria but I guess it's just such an anxious time. I almost can't believe that I'm going to be okay it's almost like I am searching for things that can go wrong constantly ahh 🤦‍♀️
