Hi @Angi41 and welcome to MN. We've moved this into the pregnancy area for you. There's also a discussion here called What age did you get pregnant?
Hope it helps - and hopefully someone will be along to reply in a mo...
Best, M.

41 here and pregnant with what will hopefully be my first baby (third pregnancy).

I do not feel too old. I've just been waiting a long long time after a tortuous journey to get here.

If you're menstruating then you're not too old. The rest of it is a state of mind. Ignore what others tell you who have had a different journey to you.

My partner and I are both fit, healthy and so so ready to be parents together!

Hsd second DD last week aged 41. Had first at 39. Both very straightforward pregnancies. Was diagnosed with low ovarian reserve and was waiting for my period to come to begin a round of ivf which ended up not needing. You're certainly not too old but I'd say to get fertility checks sooner rather than later so if there are any issues then things can be put in place sooner. Good luck!

I'm 28+6 with first baby at 41, conceived at 40.
Some people are too old, others aren't - it's impossible to say.

You just have to wait and see - or pay for testing.

tisonlymeagain · 26/06/2019 11:36

39 and pregnant here after 2 months of trying, after coming off the pill. Good luck!

BillieEilish · 26/06/2019 11:43

I had my 2nd six weeks off my 41st birthday. The community midwives seem to think I'll back for another.

My family is full of women who had babies in their 40s, including my 2nd cousin's wife who just had one at 43 yesterday.

I’m 40 and 23 weeks pregnant. I don’t feel too old, but i have also been a nanny for over 23 years, so I’ve always been used to the kids.
I fell in September whilst on the pill, but unfortunately miscarried in October. They believe the miscarriage was more to do with the fact I was on the pill.
I then fell again in January, was only took 2 months to fall again.
We are all different, but I don’t think I’m too old todo this.

Angi41 · 26/06/2019 15:58

Hope you people dont misunderstand me when i say too old i mean bodywise to fall pregnant .. i am a marathon and half marathon runner in a running club .. defo dont feel old hahaha 😊😊😊thankyou everyone for your replies

Em39ma, you need to see a doctor if you keep falling! ;-).

Teddybear45 · 26/06/2019 16:22

If it has taken you longer than 6 months to conceive then you could ask for a referral to a fertility clinic. Even if you don’t do IVF you could get a fertility check ups.

Em39ma · 26/06/2019 17:23

Bluerussian
I mean it as in to fall pregnant, not falling over.

rubyroot · 26/06/2019 17:47

Love you lot. I’m 40 has first at 39, would love another- you give me hope. Have to admit I’ve had a tough time of it though- and I’ve actually been pregnant four times. Maybe I’ll be lucky next time xxx. Good luck to all those trying

Bluerussian · 26/06/2019 18:02

Em39ma, I know that hence the wink ;-) at the end of my sentence. Only joking, sorry.

Em39ma · 26/06/2019 21:23

I missed that 🤦‍♀️ Bluerussian. I will blame my hormones 😂

Em39ma · 26/06/2019 21:29

I was told I wouldn’t be able to conceive. Then first time last year on the pill and only 2 months later with this one.
I saw the consultant yesterday and she asked why I did I think I was there. I said, because I’m old and fat, she laughed. Well yes, but then read my notes and said you weren’t heavy until your miscarriage.
No until then I was walk 10 miles a day, swimming and running around after my charges.
My body had a reaction to miscarriage, which meant I put on a lot of weight in short time.
In that case, we will keep an eye on you, but I think actually because you probably fitter than most half your age I’ll be fine.
So my answer would be try and see what happens, you won’t know unless you try and as you said you are very fit and healthy.

Beldon · 26/06/2019 22:18

41 and 27 wks pregnant, wasn’t trying at all but definitely thought I was too old. Hopefully you get the news you want soon

PetraRabbit · 26/06/2019 22:34

I'm 44 and just into my second trimester with my second child (10 months actively TTC). I conceived my first child aged 41 (4 months TTC). A miscarriage in between aged 42 (1 month TTC). Overall I have been quite fortunate. It is very hard to predict what any one person's chances are. I would go and pick up some tips on the over 40 TTC board on 'conception'.
