8 weeks in and struggling

As it says in the title, I’m just over 8 weeks in and I’m really struggling.
I feel sick 24/7, I’m not sleeping, I have gone off so many foods and drinks. I just don’t know if I’m coming or going half the time.
I don’t think it helps I’ve stopped my antidepressants.
Is this all a normal feeling?
Sorry needed to offload xx

Hey @cdb8082 I'm 9 weeks today and know how you're feeling!

I've found always having cold water near by helps and then I drink something with more flavour on the days when I feel a little better. Have you tried things like dry crackers to help with the nausea? Eating little and often has been a big help for me and I found ginger biscuits really good when I got sick of crackers!

I spent most of the weekend on the sofa as I felt like I was dying! I had a killer headache, aching joints and of course the nausea to keep me company Sad

Can I ask why you came off your anti-depressant? I was on 30mg of citalopram when I (unexpectedly) fell pregnant but over those first few weeks I reduced it to 10mg which the midwife said is safe for baby and helps keep me on track. Perhaps not coming off them completely would help slightly?

Anyway hope you feel better soon! x

I managed my anxiety with propanalol and came off my other tablets, as soon as I found out I was pregnant I went straight back on them. It’s not ideal but there isn’t a more important time when your mental health needs to be stable. I felt hungover permanently for the first 11 weeks and was thoroughly miserable. Even began to regret getting pregnant; I pretty much lived on sugar free polos to keep the sickness at bay.

It does get better, hang in there :-)

@cdb8082- bless you! I’ve also struggled with anxiety... my sleep hasn’t been brilliant 😢 My hay fever has been awful and can’t take my usual antihistamine which I used to take in the middle of the night as it would get me back off to sleep for a few hours.
Sorry for the rant but just to let you know you’re not alone 💜

This sounds exactly how I was a few weeks ago. Like you I came off anti depressants, I think it adds to the awful feeling. I wish I had been signed off work and not tried to keep managers happy. Do exactly what you need to do to make things easier. Speak to the doctor and they might be able to prescribe you anti sickness tablets. I started to feel better at around 11 weeks, I hope this is the same for you too. It's the worst feeling and it's relentless, sleep makes things easier!

Thanks everyone, it’s reassuring to know I’m not alone.
Still feeling really rough despite trying various things.
Seeing dr today so going to see if there is anything that can be done.
I feel like I am between a rock and a hard place, I try to eat/drink I’m sick, if I don’t the nausea gets worse and horrendous stomach cramps.
Feels like it’s a vicious circle atm.
:(

Update: Dr said I can take metaclopramide upto 3 times a day but it hasn’t seemed to have made a mega difference.
Just really hoping this sickness passes quickly

@cdb8082- bless you. How are you feeling in yourself? Any better?

It’s such a hard and worrying journey. I’ve had a stomach ache today and that’s made me worry. I can’t see it stopping! X

cdb8082 · 01/07/2019 07:35

@Kate3150 how are you feeling today? Hope your stomach less painful. How far along are you?
For me last night was another bad night, my back feels like it’s got a knife in it and no surprises feeling as sick as a dog.
Definitely feeling sorry for myself lol.
Does anyone else find the first trimester drags?

That was normal for me both times yeah usually eases off around week 12

Kate3150 · 01/07/2019 16:34

@cdb8082- oh my goodness that’s sounds horrific, do you normally suffer from back pain? You poor thing 💕.
I’m 16 + 1 today.... stomach has been better thanks. I had some tuna and bottle of orange juice yesterday so wonder if that upset things. I have a delicate stomach anyway 😢.
I feel everyday is a drag lol... xx
