just barrowed one from a friend and about to use it but couldnt remember whether when the mid-wives use them do they apply a bit of ky jelly.

Yup they apply a little dollop of the stuff on the doppler before they put it on your tummy.
Great idea to have one at home. Does it sound like a boy or girl baby?
