In shock - found out I’m pregnant

I’ve just found out I’m almost 10 weeks pregnant with my 2nd after struggling with infertility for 4 years and eventual IVF for my 10 month DS

Safe to say I’m in shock that I’m pregnant (and I’ve had a period in between!) and not really sure how to feel or what to do

I’m worried as my DS won’t even be 2 when the new one arrives, and I’m feeling terribly guilty about him not getting my full attention anymore (especially as I’ll be back at work for a little while)

In addition I’ve had a few drinks all throughout the pregnancy at weddings etc as I had no idea I was pregnant (especially because of the period)

And I haven’t taken any folic acid or anything

I’m quite anxious as with my son I was so on the ball with everything and now worried what this could mean for this pregnancy.

Don't worry @Willow4987. Some people drink all the way through their pregnancy abs have healthy babies.

It's natural for you to worry more due to the struggles you've had in the past but 10 weeks is early enough for you to start with your folic acid etc anyway! (Again some people choose not to take it and have healthy babies).

Congratulations!

Congrats!!

Don't worry about the drinking. Its not as though you were drinking a bottle of wine every night. A few here and there won't harm the baby. At least now you know so you can stop!!

Same with the folic acid, lots of women choose not to take it, or like you have a surprise pregnancy and go on to have a healthy baby.

I had two under two (on purpose) and it was fine. Yes it was chaos but we all survived, both DS's are great friends now at 2 and 3.

Don't panic about the drinking etc because there is literally nothing you can do about it, just start as you mean to go on now. It is highly likely that everything will be fine, it happens to lots of people.

Just start taking the vitamins. Plenty of people have kids close in age. Mine are 20 months apart. I know someone who has 3 already and expecting a 4th, who will be 14 months younger then the third! And a few friends who have kids 13 months apart! It’s hard at first, but they kids then play together.

I had two under two on purpose then three under three not on purpose Grin. It was absolutely fine. They’re all older now and get along great.

Thanks for the reassurance everyone! I suppose I’m just in shock. Getting a few more pregnancy tests to be sure Blush

Hopefully it all goes ok and everyone adjusts ok.

With 2 under 2, what do people do about pranks etc? I’m assuming my eldest will be walking but might still need a stroller when out and about?

Would a double pram like bugaboo donkey be better than a buggy board on the current pram?

We went for a double... Had an 18m gap between my first two. Eldest wasn't old enough ime to use a buggy board properly and still sometimes fell asleep while we were out and about.... Big tip is that it's often easier with them to be out of the house a lot!
City Select was our choice, was a great single too.

Congratulations I had two with an 18mo gap it was hard at first I will not lie because my DD was so jealous of the baby but in time they've grown to be very close and they are now 2 & 4 and I'm expecting another. It'll be lovely
