When to get big baby buys delivered - Nursery furniture, cot, car seat etc

I purchased LOTs of things but asked for them to be delivered closer to my due date - 1 cos I’m a little superstitious like that, 2 for practicality - nursery is yet to be painted & carpeted, so the last thing I need is loads of big boxes to move around.

I’ve been emailed now asking to schedule delivery dates.

I’m thinking 1 or 2 weeks before due date will be fine? This is when I will be finishing work, hopefully all work on the house will be done and we’ll be in a position to build the furniture.

Or is that a bit too close? Would you go earlier?

Thanks

My plan is everything ready for 36 weeks

We got nursery furniture when the baby was around 7 months. She was in with us before that so didn't need anything. For car seat and roam most places do next day delivery so we left it reasonably late.

Won’t baby be in with you for the first 6 months or so? If you would need the car seat to get home from hospital I’d have that by 36 weeks just in case, and a cot or Moses basket for your room. The rest it doesn’t really matter I guess when it comes.

I would like all my stuff sorted by 26 weeks... but that’s only because I had my last baby at 28w and I’m paranoid! I’d still probably be opting to have it all sorted by 33w as I like to be prepared.

Thanks. Yes baby will be in with us but Snuzpod is one of the things to be delivered, as is car seat.

Car seat I guess can come as soon as, but the other furniture bits I don’t really want until closer to due date as we’re trying to get bits down to the house and it’s just extra stuff to move around.

I think 35 weeks is adequate.

Thanks for the responses
