High Hcg levels?

Yesterday at 6+4 weeks I went to my gp as I was getting pains in my side and I had an ectopic pregnancy last year so was worried and I ended up being referred to the hospital for tests. While there they tested my hcg levels and they came back as 96,000! I know it can vary a lot but that sounds quite high to me?

They couldn’t sort out a scan until Tuesday so won’t know anymore until then but of course I’ve been googling and I’ve read high hcg levels could indicate a molar pregnancy or multiples or abnormalities.

Anyone else had high hcg levels?
I’m feeling nervous now.

My blood test to confirm pregnancy was 72,000 at 5+6. I mentioned it to the doctor at my first scan and she said levels vary so much from woman to woman ... but then she spotted the second embryo 😂 So it did indicate twins in my case.

Congrats on your twins @lifesnotaspectatorsport ! I’m quite nervous about twins so hoping it’s just one! I guess I’ll find out Tuesday

How far along were you when your levels were tested @possum236 ?

@Adelais so I'm not entirely sure what it all means but at 5+1 my HCG was just under 7000 so I think if it were doubling evenly two days then I'd be a bit higher than you and they scanned me at 5+1 and saw 1 gestational sac and 1 yolk sac. It was early days (I had scan due to spotting) so I go back on 1st July for another check. But it looks like only 1 in there and they didn't have concerns over my levels they said they were strong and healthy. Let us know how you get on.

My hcg level at 5 weeks and 4 days was 22000 so if it doubled every few days then I reckon mine would have similar to yours at over 6 weeks and Im defo only pregnant with 1 baby, I think levels can vary so much.

@Adelais I dont officially know how far I am but from working out dates I should around 6 weeks now? I had a blood test because I had a MC in March and experienced really bad pain again the other day so my manager sent me to see EPAS..

Mine were 28,000 at 5+4 and 56,000 at 5+6, baby is currently snoozing on my lap. They can vary loads between different women at the same stage of pregnancy. Yours sounds totally fine.
