Considering Home birth

Posted this in childbirth but wondering if this thread is a bit busier....

I'm 25 weeks and starting to seriously consider home birth as an option. I have some silly questions though such as what room do you birth in? And what do I do about the dog and the 5 year old?
Id be looking at a water birth but feel our kitchen isn't very cosy feeling and feels quite cold so I'd rather the living room. Will that be a problem? How do they fill and empty a pool?
We also have a dog and a 5 year old and I'm concerned about how they will respond and how to handle it all.
Dd would have to go to inlaws (either drop her off in advance or handover at hospital if its as fast as last time) if we planned a birth centre birth so I'd anticipate them being on standby if I had a home birth instead and needed to be transferred.
Dog can be shut away in the kitchen as that's where she sleeps but I'd be worried she might whine and bark with people here and me making noise.

There are some good home birth groups on Facebook.

It's a lovely idea, do look into it from all angles and get to know a couple of midwives who specialise in home deliveries.

I think I would have liked home birth, bit late now hee hee but I gave birth with no difficulties and it could have happened at home as easily as in hospital.

I had 2 home births as I wanted to be in my own home. I didn’t have a pool, I was standing up throughout most of my labours, then went on to my hands and knees at the end when I started to push.
