Pregnancy, labour and breastfeeding with fibromyalgia?

Hi everyone,
I am 5 months pregnant and recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I was wondering has anyone else been pregnant with Fibromyalgia? What were your experiences like?
I'm particularly concerned about labour and breastfeeding with fibro, with my first child (before fibro) I had a very easy pregnancy and labour, I struggled to breastfeed but I was determined to do it and got there in the end. I'm a bit nervous it's going to be harder this time round.
Does anyone have experiences/ advice for Labour and breastfeeding with fibro?
Thanks in advance for any comments

From what I have heard from others, fibro symptoms can potentially get a bit better during and after labour due to all the hormones etc. Have you received any treatment yet? CBT is recommended to help people cope with the impact of symptoms and it might give you some useful tools that could come in handy after baby is born if you can get it before you give birth. Otherwise it might be a while before you can manage to go to appts for it?

Yes I'm doing cbt and physio and I'm learning to manage things but was worried labour would be more difficult, it's a relief to know that hormones will help relieve fibro instead of cause a flare. Thanks for your reply.

I'm 17 weeks pregnant with my first, I'm yet to get an official diagnosis but I have either fibromyalgia or Ankylosing spondylitis. My symptoms have subsided so far however about a week ago my back, which is where my pain is concentrated mostly, has been horrific. I have a maternal medicine appointment on Wednesday, hopefully this gives me some answers!

I’m on my third pregnancy with fibro. The first, my symptoms were so much better but I had the worst flare of my life on the post natal ward and was on morphine after the birth. The second pregnancy was better and the birth wasn’t affected by fibro at all and my current pregnancy is somewhere in the middle. It didn’t effect breastfeeding at all.

Make sure your midwife knows, and you’ll probably be referred to see a consultant at least once.
