Baby not moving... or is he?

Iv been busy the last couple of days out of the house so not sure if he has moved then, BUT I do sometimes feel like im being kicked in the cervix or vaginaBlush and other times it feels like wind, I had that this morning.

At my 20 week scan he was led across the bottom and I felt all his kicks on my left so was easy to identify them!

Iv had a cold drink & he's not giving me any kicks but I don't normally get movement at this time of day anyway its usually evening/night time.

Im 23 weeks tomorrow, what else can I try to wake him up xx

Go and get checked today. In the meantime, try a sugary drink and lie down and count with a stop watch

Bath time always worked for me. Get checked out though. Never a call wasted to a mw imo...

TitianaTitsling · 21/06/2019 15:58

Absolutely call your midwife, mine always said they would rather they were called/seen for 'nothing' than miss something. I hope all is ok.

WhiteLightTrainWreck · 21/06/2019 16:00

Give the mat unit or your midwife a call and just have a chat.
Try not to panic and just tell them what you've said here, my midwife likes to tell me at every appointment, if something is worrying me they want to know because they want to help remove the worry, or look into it. You will never waste their time.

I'd get checked - my mw really drilled into me that any decrease in movement should be checked and it's never a waste of anyone's time, even if baby is fine.

Sessy19 · 21/06/2019 16:55

At 20w scan, my baby flipped over and turned twice, so he was never in the same position for longer than a few minutes which made getting the screen shots quite difficult for the sonographer.

I wouldn’t be too alarmed about not feeling your baby movements this early, I don’t think it’s generally considered to be a ‘pattern’ for s few more weeks yet (28ws), especially as it’s not something you’ve been tracking for a few days now st least 😊

If you’re asking just to see if you can wake baby up, see if you can feel movements, maybe try a caffeinated drink?

melissa1215 · 21/06/2019 17:31

Ice water usually gets my little guy moving, lying down and a fizzy drink too

TitianaTitsling · 21/06/2019 18:01

Hows things @HJWT? Did you get to speak to the midwife?

EllyNC291 · 22/06/2019 08:30

Try lying on your left and just really focusing on the movements.
Not sure if it’s the same everywhere but where I live they won’t monitor the baby for reduced movements until 28 weeks, but at 24 weeks I called because I was concerned and they did check baby with a Doppler. Worth giving them a call to see if you are even slightly concerned!

Hi everyone sorry I didn't reply I couldn't find the thread on the app 🙄

@TitianaTitsling he woke up around an hour later and was kicking a lot! Apparently he doesn't like it when I have a very full bladder!

@Sessy19 at my 20 week scan he would NOT move! Even after an hour he was still in the same position I had to go back 3 days later and he was still in the same position 😂 luckily he did move though other wise I would of had to go back again! Kids eh 😜 xx
