Swollen feet 40 weeks

I'm 40 weeks today with no sign at all of baby arriving. However I have noticed after getting out of the bath that my feet are swollen. I've no headache or anything like that, and I've a routine midwife appointment at 9.30am tomorrow.
If you were me would you be phoning anyone today (thinking PE but also thinking hey I'm heavily pregnant, it's normal) or am I ok to wait til tomorrow? I'm sure it's nothing and I'm worried if I go in stressing they'll end up saying they may as well intervene when I'm quite happy waiting another week for nature to take its course if all's well. Obviously if I get a headache or any of the other symptoms of PE I will be straight in the car with my bags packed but I guess I'm looking to see if it can wait til tomorrow morning. I've got my feet up and drinking plenty whilst I'm deciding what to do...

I'm only 37 weeks and mine have been quite swollen for a few weeks now. I asked my midwife about it last week and she barely even looked at my feet or ankles and said it's completely normal at the end of pregnancy unless you have other symptoms like you say, headaches, protein in urine, high blood pressure. I think you'll be completely fine until your appointment in the morning, but if you are concerned at all there's no harm in phoning up and asking about it.

Just ring them and ask their advice.

Personally I would call them now, I had incredibly swollen feet towards the end and was admitted and induced at 39 weeks for pre-eclampsia despite no issues throughout the rest of my pregnancy. May be nothing but always worth checking these things, won't do any harm to give them a call!

Thanks all- fell asleep til now Blush woken up with one normal foot and one still a bit squashy but looking better than it was, to me.
DP saw them earlier and is due back home shortly so will get a comparison from him then probably make the phone call (to hopefully be told to sit tight til the morning unless anything new comes along #crossesfingers)

Update, especially for if anyone finds this on a search for the same thing- DP pulled a face when he saw my fat feet so I phoned triage, as I've no other symptoms and I'm seeing a midwife early on tomorrow anyway they were happy for me to stay at home and gave me some self-help things to do. I suspect if I hadn't got an appointment tomorrow they'd have asked me to pop down to be checked and as always they didn't make me feel silly for calling.

Glad you called them and hope your appointment goes well, at least it's not raining tomorrow so you can fit them in some flip flops Grin (that's all I could squish's my feet into Grin)

TheLionQueen1 · 20/06/2019 21:37

*squash...not squish's!!

Further update- feet looked like mine again this morning, nothing in urine. However have got static growth so having a scan later and a chat about induction with a consultant, unless the growth scan shows back on track.
I'm nervous but still rather that than PE I think, was very grateful for a clear dipstick test!
