HCG Levels

Hi, just after other people's experiences if they have been in a similar situation while waiting for a scan on Wednesday.

We had a positive test on 11/06 which we were chuffed about, on 21/06 suffered some medium pink bleeding in the evening which stopped by morning and turned to very light brown spotting.

Ended up getting seen by hospital as had very light cramps which were occasionally on left hand side. Did a blood test which came back as 629, and had an exam which doctor said bleeding may have been caused by cells outside the cervix.

Went back 48 hours later for more bloods and came back at 1055. They booked us in for an early scan as they said levels needed to be above 1000 to be able to see anything and wanted to rule out ectopic.

48 hours later had the scan which was inconclusive, a possible sign of a 5mm sac but couldn't be sure, also can't rule out ectopic. More bloods done and came back at only 1459...

They are not happy with the HCG increase and have booked in for another scan on Wednesday next week.

They are going up but not doubling. Anyone got any stories to tell with numbers similar to this?

Also we are not sure how pregnant I am. Last period was 01/05 but I have very irregular cycles ranging from 39-49 days.

@Blackglass1 they expect to see the HCG levels double every 48 hours. I have had HCG blood tests when it turned out I had an MMC but they didn't increase as much as yours have. Unfortunately they will only be able to tell once they do the next scan. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I once was told that HCG should raise by 66% but they LIKE to see them double...

I had a scan at 4 weeks 3 days and they thought they saw a sac but were not sure so had another 1 week later and saw baby with heart beat xx

So here's an update for me, again anymore experiences would be appreciated.

We went back for the scan and was told they could see two 'what could be sacs' measuring at 7mm & 4mm but still too small to see any detail.

Bloods were taken again but levels still very low.

26/06 - 2398

That's not even doubled for us in a week.

Have another scan booked in a weeks time. Have we got any hope?

@Blackglass1 it's difficult to say. In my experience, not doubling does indicate a problem and likely miscarriage but there is no way of knowing until your next scan. Hope you are coping ok.

I was told that they should rise by 63% not doubling.

Had a miscarriage yesterday. Still have the scan Wednesday to make sure everything is out.

Never looked good from the start to be fair.
