I'm early 40s and usually my periods are very regular. However I've now missed 2 in a row, never happened before. I've taken several pregnancy tests, all negative. However I'm feeling very swollen around my stomach. Are over the counter pregnancy tests reliable? Is there some other way I can be tested, e.g would a test at the GP be any more reliable? I have spoken to my GP who has said I need to miss a 3rd period before they will investigate and even then it will be a blood test to check FSH levels for early menopause, not pregnancy. If it's an early menopause I'll just have to deal with it, but I'm scared of suddenly finding out I'm pregnant quite far down the line. Thanks
