Iron Infusion

I have struggled with low iron throughout my pregnancy, despite being on iron tablets, and feel pretty rotten all the time. At my last appt with the midwife she said next time she'll take bloods and if my iron is still low then they'll send me for a transfusion. Has anyone ever had one? I've googled it and it seems fairly straightforward but I'd be interested in hearing people's experiences! 😊

Yes. It's literally a line in arm and a slow drip put in. Was fine. I had to have 3 in my last pregnancy more towards the end though.
I was in and out within an hour. Good luck

I had a transfusion after losing a lot of blood during the birth. After a few days of feeling dreadful, within an hour of the transfusion starting i was like a new woman. All the best!
