Pressure and Pain/Discomfort

Hey!
Before I start, I want to say I've already spoken to the midwife about this and they said there's nothing to worry about but I just wanted a little more peace of mind or whether I should contact another midwife for a second opinion.

So I'm 26+4 weeks pregnant today and I've been experiencing a 'stitch' like pain at the bottom of my bump the majority of the time that I'm walking around. This has been going on for around 2-3 weeks now (I brought it up at my 25 week midwife appointment).

On top of this I seem to feel a sort of 'pressure' feeling where my pubic bone is and I'm feeling 'winded' just below my right rib. A couple of weeks ago I experienced pain while walking the dogs with my husband for around 20-30 seconds where I had to stop walking completely to wait for it to go away.

Is all this Braxton Hicks or is it just the normality of pregnancy (this is obviously my first) or is it something more I should be worried about?

Other notes I should probably say is that people comment quite a lot on how large my bump is (I'm not a fat girl, just they keep saying 'are there twins in there?' Etc to my annoyance) and I have a low-lying placenta so I don't know if any of these play a part of it.

Whenever I tell anyone how uncomfortable I am they just tell me I haven't seen anything yet until I hit later pregnancy! All I can think of is if I'm struggling now how am I going to cope later on? If it's all normal then I'll just shut up and get on with it but my worry is that I'm ignoring something serious.

Thanks in advance!

I had a stitch like pain at around 28 weeks and midwife thought they could just be Braxton Hicks. If I moved too quickly or the wrong way boy did I know about it! Sometimes I struggled to get off the sofa without it hurting. They've gone now I'm 36 weeks but sometimes have a lot of pressure on and off down there.

Thanks for the reassurance! As long as it's not just me! Will just have to put my big girl socks on and deal with it! Haha! Smile

Not sure what stitch-like pain is, but in my last pregnancy at around 30-32 weeks, I had sciatica in my left buttock when I bent over slightly and when I walked, started to get dull cramp-like stabbing in my left groin after a bit. When I stopped moving, it would go away.
Ob didn't think much of it and said the two were ghe same nerve, but at my next monitoring app at 34 weeks (it's routine here every two weeks), I had too many contractions for his liking, so he prescribed magnesium tablets, as magnesium works against cramping. Hey presto: contractions gone, sciatica gone and cramping in groin gone in a few days flat.

Maybe magnesium could help you? The pressure is normal, though.

I had this all last week for around 5 days it was on my right side, really sharp, and stabbing.

I personally think it was related to my bowel, following a few movements it completely eased off and went completely.

Try eating a ton of fruit it might help.
The pain is worrying though because it's so sharp but when I rang the midwife she seemed unbothered.

Sounds like round ligament pain. I've had it on and off throughout my pregnancy (mostly on my right hand side) and it's really painful; like you, I've had to stop when walking my dogs to wait for the pain to go away or it has woken me up when I've rolled over in bed. I've found sleeping with a pillow between my knees has really helped to ease the pressure on the ligaments around my hips. Would definitely suggest doing this if you don't already.
