Vaginal discharge 16 weeks

When is discharge a concern? Im 16+3 and Every now and then I am experiencing discharge that ranges from clear to milky white. Its not all the time, but if I sneeze/cough sometimes it comes out. I’m also noticing that it happens after I’ve peed. I’ve been having trouble urinating (which I think is from extreme constipation putting pressure down there), and I also experience this discharge after I’ve gone - I’ll empty my bladder (or at least feels like I do) and then get some of this discharge. Theres no smell, nor am I experiencing bleeding. Like I said, its not a constant trickle or HUGE amount ! Just sometimes my panties are a bit wet, etc.

I went to the GP yesterday and called maternity triage and they said its normal and don’t seem too concerned. What do you think? I’ve heard of leaking amniotic fluid, so I’m a bit paranoid even though I’ve been told not to worry.

I think as long as its clear/milky white and no smell it's normal. If go and midwife have checked try not to worry about bout it. When is your next appointment?

Not until July 3rd Sad I left a message with the midwife team to see if I could get it moved up, but they haven't gotten back to me (typical)

If it's smelly, coloured or lumpy like cottage cheese.

Pregnancy is a very wet time! I had to wear pants liners all the time. There's a reason why bounty and the like give a free sample in the mum to be pack!

Also it's not wee. It's just the normal pregnancy dampness.

My discharge increased around the same time and I still wear pantiliners most days now at nearly 25 weeks. As mentioned look out for unusual smells and texture.

Mintypea5 · 19/06/2019 15:55

Totally normal! I had similar and genuinely thought I'd wee'd myself it was so much. Pregnancy is not a glamorous time at all.

If the triage team were concerned they would have had you in for a check.

Thanks for the input, everyone! Yes, it does seem to be a "general dampness" all the time, then every now and then this discharge comes out of nowhere and makes me nervous! Pregnancy is such a fun time lol

I'm 16 weeks and yep, damp... this is my third so I knew what to expect but it was a bit disconcerting the first time. Invest in a lot of pantyliners because it never got any better for me the last time. Pregnancy is literally all glamour!
