Mucus plug at 31 weeks

I'm 31 weeks with my 2nd and woke up this morning to what I thought was my mucus plug after going to the loo. It was blood tinged so called triage who told me to go in. They monitored baby and then a doctor did an internal who told me by cervix was high and closed but took a swab to check for infection.

I've carried on losing little bits all day and then another massive amount of mucus just now however it was clear. Has anyone experienced this before? It doesn't smell and I have no other symptoms. Just worried that it's not stopping but I know the plug can regenerate

I did and was told it would grow back it did

I just don't understand how it can be the plug if my cervix is high and closed surely it would have to efface for it to come away? I'm not worried inparticularly just baffled
