Washing Baby Clothes

Did you wash brand new baby clothes? If so, with what type of detergent and/or fabric softener? What temp?

I washed mine in own brand non-bio and comfort pure just because I like the smell so much, it has such a 'baby' smell to me and I enjoyed putting them away. No idea if it's actually necessary.

I didn't wash them first, never even thought of it.
I've only ever used fairy non bio to wash them though.

I definitely wash new clothes for my baby using non-bio and comfort pure. I have put her straight in clothes without washing with no issue, but I don't like the idea of the chemicals/dirt and dirty hands touching the clothes when in the shop. Plus it makes the clothes much softer and smell fresh. Also fairy do a non-bio stain remover which works better than napisan on stains.

Yes with asda non bio and comfort pure.
Don't know how effective or necessary it is but there's something about seeing all fresh baby clothes on the radiators/washing line that feels like some rite of passage coming to the end of pregnancy also before you get sick of the sight of laundry every other day!

Normal detergent. The baby stuff is just marketing.

Yes I washed all DC’s before wearing, as others have said new clothes are treated with awful chemicals.

I always my own new clothes before wear too after getting an awful rash from brand new trousers years ago, I had a bad reaction to the dye/chemicals.

I’m really reluctant to wash the stuff I’ve bought because if when he arrives he’s too big for newborn size I won’t be able to exchange any of it.
